O My! Oprah!

If, like us, you’ve been on pins and needles wondering what Oprah Winfrey will do with herself now that she’s no longer hosting her own TV show, it seems the wait is over. Apparently Oprah has decided to devote herself to making the world safe for ice cream. Or so it seems to us, anyway.

St. Clair Ice Cream mini fruits are on the O List in the magazine’s August issue. Page 58, to be precise. About half way down.

Of course, anybody who’s ever served our molded ice cream and sorbet desserts knows that they make a sweet end to any meal, whatever the season. But who’s to quibble with press like this?

Bells are ringing!!

Wedding Bells

Spring is here and it’s wedding season. Complete with a Prince.

In case you’ve been under a self-imposed media blackout, or you just avoid the gossip pages, the Royal Wedding of Catherine Middleton to Prince William is next Friday, April 29, at 10 am London time. That’s 5 am here on the East Coast. And it gets earlier as you move West, until you’re practically back into Thursday. Who planned this thing?

We’re not here to cast aspersions on the Monarchy or malign this particular pairing. We’ll leave that to  Christopher Hitchens. But we must admit we’d feel ever so slightly more confident about the prospects for this couple’s future had they included a molded ice cream dessert on the menu. In particular, our wedding bells, we think, would go a long way toward making their special day one to remember. As it is, they’ll have to settle for a ceremony in Westminster Abbey, their very own YouTube channel and the adulation of millions of well wishers around the globe. Still, how much better would it all be with the addition of a pair of ice cream wedding bells?

Just in time for Easter

It’s finally turning Spring like and warm here in the East. Time for us to get busy with the seasonal favorites. As if in keeping with the weather this winter, Easter comes a little later this year, on April 24. In preparation, we’ve been busy making ice cream bunnies. Here’s an inside peak at how we make the magic happen:

We make the bunnies in a few different flavors, which allows us some fun color choices. If you’re after a brown or white bunny, then chocolate or vanilla is the way to go. Pink aficionados have a couple of choices: strawberry or, for a different twist, peppermint ice cream. A customer emailed us asking about the difference between the two. The peppermint ice cream is a multi colored peppermint candy flavor, and the bunnies look like this:

Time to Spring forward.

Here in the Northeast it’s been a long, hard winter. So as we get ready to set our clocks ahead come Saturday night, we’re looking forward to the season that brings renewal and surprise.

Lilies

Our Lilies are all about Spring. Distinctive and elegant, they add just the right touch to any Easter or Passover table. Each flower is two and a half fluid ounces of super-premium ice cream or Kosher Pareve sorbet. One or two make a perfect single serving.

Lilies are available in Vanilla or Peach Ice Cream, or Passion Fruit, Lemon or Raspberry Sorbet.
Get a jump on the season with our hand molded flowers.

And the Oscar goes to . . .

Frankly, we don’t recall, though we were partial to anything having to do with swans.  But while the broadcast may have been a tad underwhelming, it put us in mind of one of our favorite performances in a cooking video. Christopher Walken snuck this video onto the Imcooked website a couple years ago without any fanfare that we’ve been able to find, and it went viral in a very cool way. Imagine how this would pair with our ice cream pears for dessert!

For your consideration . . .

We’ve got a winning idea for an oscar party: our ice cream and sorbet seashells.

No matter where you are, these frozen delights will bring a ray of California sunshine, even a bit of Tinseltown glamour, to any table. Even in the depths of Winter.

Our seashells - in assorted conch, whelk and scallop shapes - are available in a dazzling array of our super premium ice cream and vegan, Kosher Pareve sorbet flavors. It’s as tough to choose among our eight flavors as it is among ten films. But you’ll manage. Each piece is about an ounce and a half, making two or three a dish fit for a starlet. They come by the half-dozen, one flavor per half dozen, all hand molded and dipped in our custom glaze for that inimitable crunch.

The Academy Awards are Sunday, February 27.
